ALUMNI COMMITTEE INVITATION:
When last year the “Fallon Streeters” gathered at OMS there was so much to reminisce about…School Picnics…Christmas Eve Mass…May Processions…Corpus Christi Processions in Old Cathedral…Memorial Day in the Square…Saint Patrick’s Day Parades with the STM Band…Shanahan Catholic Club. Who needed babysitters?? I will never forget standing in line with my mom and two brothers, Bobby and Jerry, as we got those little cards with our names on it. It was the start of a summer of fun. You never really said goodbye to your classmates because when Memorial Day rolled around everyone was at the pool. We waited with anticipation to find out who the lifeguards would be for that season. I think Mrs. Coughlin was always in the girls locker room. I don’t know about the boys. Generations of us grew up with OMS and Shanahan. We were so fortunate to be a part of such a caring and loving community of people…We were all family!!
Last year a member of my OMS family and good friend was very sick on Alumni Day…this year she will be with us in all her glory. Duff and I started this journey together when we decided to go home to visit OMS. Please don’t miss your opportunity to do the same. Last year there were over 200 people at the reunion. I hope this year there will be even more. Even if you have moved away, Home Is Where Your Heart Is! Our Mother of Sorrows was the Heart and Soul of our family Life in West Philadelphia.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS: SUNDAY, APRIL 18, 2010. Mass will be celebrated at 9AM. Off street parking is available, and there is a wheelchair ramp into Church. The first annual Monsignor Daly Alumni Award will be given to Fr. Rayford Emmons. We will lay at wreath at Msgr. Daly's gravesite to honor him and to remember the many generations of people he touched, and continues to touch today. We were all blessed to have know him. A true Saint to all Of Our Mother of Sorrows.
To buy tickets send a check for $15 per ticket made out to OMS to OMS Reunion, 1008 N. 48th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19131. Please feel free to call me or any member of our Alumni Committee for more information about the reunion. I returned to OMS for the pride, honor, and tradition of my family. Please join me!!
Fondly,
Eileen P. Scullin Shannon

Well "HELLO" Our Mother Of Sorrows!! You out did yourselves... Over 200 alumni in attendance for 2009. Congratulations to all!!
We knew you would come home to Our Mother of Sorrows if we could just find you... and find you we did... and you also found each other.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. You made our efforts so worthwhile.
Now, we need to continue our desire to unite as many OMS alumni family members as possible and with your help, we will leave no stone unturned.
Our Mother of Sorrows "Pride", and "Our True Spirit Of Family" lives on today and will live on forever through our hearts and those who came before us, as well as those who come after us. Please come back to visit with us often. Shared memories never die! Our sincere thanks to Father James Otto and all of our OMS family. Your hospitality, your graciousness, and your embrace of us was a true blessing for all.
See everyone at the "OC" Memorial Mass on Saturday, June 13, 2009...another chance to join together as one family in song and praise of the Lord. Time: 4:30PM.
Not what we say about our Blessings, but how we use them, is the true measure of our Thanksgiving”.
